Desautels Preparatory Case Competition
06 Feb, 2012
The DPCC gave participants a chance to visit the school, work in the facilities, and understand the various roles and representatives within the faculty by directly meeting the people involved. Though marked as a case competition, this event effectively extended beyond the academic realm, and showcased a more holistic perspective of what a “Bronfman BCom” has to offer.
Other than the case crack and presentations, the program included organizational behavior activities, a business plan proposal activity, and a preliminary introduction to case frameworks by Professor Donovan. Throughout the various activities, teams were coached, judged, and guided by Desautels students. The day-long competition concluded in a catered cocktail where winners were announced and, more importantly, where participants had a chance to mingle with McGill staff and students.
Originally conceived by last year’s Ambassador Committee, the organizers worked closely with Career Services to turn former ideas into a reality with the contributions of generous sponsors. Given all the preparation and the successful outcome, DPCC is likely to continue to receive much popularity in the upcoming years.
